SQL Server Standard Licensing is available through the traditional server+client model, where the user must license the software on the server plus each user or device client station that accesses the server. For example, if there is one database server and seven users accessing that server, the user must purchase 1 server with 7 CALs.

This product is a Single Client Access License. It allows a single user or device to connect to your SQL Server. It is the Client Access Licenses (CAL) only. It is not the SQL Server 2012 Server License, which is a separate item and is required to install the SQL Server database software. Please purchase as many units as you have users or devices that will be accessing your SQL Server. The minimum purchase is 5 units.
